Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, as the saying goes, must have rolled over in his grave last night as the Massachusetts voters delivered a stinging repudiation to Obama’s socialist agenda. The  White House tried to spin the defeat as the result of a poorly run Coakly campaign, but the only people stupid enough to believe the lies are the ones who are telling them.  Following his talking points prepared by the White House, Barney Frank said, “Martha Coakley was a lousy candidate. She let herself get involved in a personality debate.”

Despite the spin, the message could not be clearer: The democrats lost a long held senate seat in one of their deepest blue states by 52-47, a small sample of what’s going to happen to them in the 2010 election cycle.  Some are now estimating that the dems may end up with as few as 50 senate seats when the dust clears in November.

Despite the voters’ mushroom cloud now hanging over Massachusetts,  Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are still secretly plotting how they can foist their unholy and unwanted health care package on the American people.

Video Letter to Dems: America Rising

Written by PeacockWatch on January 15, 2010.

This is a great video with a great message.  Most members of Peacockwatch didn’t fall for candidate Obama’s scam, false promises, and hidden socialist agenda, but this video speaks to the truth of what has happened to our republic and what is going to happen to Democratic polititians who have screwed us over by attempting to kill capitalism and seize control of every facet of our lives.

The End of the 1776 Republic

Written by PeacockWatch on January 10, 2010.

PeacockWatch believes that, one way or the other, we are in the last few years of the American Republic of our founding fathers.

the-signing-of-the-declaration-of-independenceThe progressives under the determined leadership of President Obama and his gang of mostly Marxist czars are doggedly pursuing socialism. Liberals, who aren’t necessarily progressives or Marxists, are following the leadership of the Democratic Party toward socialism. This includes:

• the takeover of the banking and automobile industries,
• the control of the health industry which is 1/6th of the American economy,
• wage control of certain industries,
• environmental reforms which will create economic havoc guaranteed to give the government additional excuses to take over industries sure to fail because of resultant energy cost increases.

Conservatives under what amounts to no central point of leadership at all are not fighting like they should to preserve, protect and defend the basic values of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America. There is not a concerted deafening roar of indignation at the loss of individual liberties being suffered as a result of these federal government actions. There is no outrage over the collusion between the executive and legislative branches of government. There is no calling out of the judicial branch for overstepping of its authority by creating rather than enforcing law. No conservative legislator is pointing out with sufficient voice and indignation the abuse of the fourth estate; the ownership of the fourth estate by conglomerates entangled financially and incestuously with elected government officials getting rich on the relationship.

We may have only two official political parties in the United States. But, in reality, we have at least four broad divisions of political opinion. However, the two political parties that are in charge don’t want to give up their stranglehold on the political structure. Giving up this stranglehold would decrease their power over the American public and provide too much opportunity for more diverse opinions.

It is clear that there has long been a shadow political party in place for at least 70 years; perhaps as long as 100 years. This is the Progressive Party that has adherents in both the Republican and Democratic ranks. This Progressive Party is really an American Socialist Party and should come out of the shadows, clearly publish their political platform and openly and publicly state their beliefs. President Obama, Hilary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and several others are leaders of this Progressive or American Socialist Party.

teapartyspittsburgh-600x399A newer party is in the process of forming. Its popular name is the Tea Party and its members are essentially believers in Jeffersonian Democracy and the principals of our founding fathers. It is perhaps too early to say what form or name this “Tea Party” group will take on but it is clear that there is significant coherence in their beliefs. Perhaps more coherence than there is within either the Democratic or Republican Parties but not necessarily the Progressives.

The 100 year old Progressive Movement is tired of taking its time to bring Socialism and redistribution of wealth to the United States and the world. It has upped the ante and under the Obama administration has greatly accelerated its efforts. Through closed door negotiations and high stakes deals it is pushing its agenda through at a record pace. The formation of the Tea Party is part of the response to that acceleration and secrecy.

The effect is that the Progressive Party’s stirring of our American melting pot is more like the results of using a centrifuge to separate a solution into its constituent parts. Our nation is fractionalizing under the effects of that centrifuge and it is going to take a massive leadership effort to turn us into a single team again.

Liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans have lost their way. In the process we the people will lose our American Republic if we don’t take control of our government in 2010.

We have reached a tipping point where one of perhaps four things is almost sure to happen.

One is that there will be a violent revolution which all but a few whackos don’t want. The violent revolution will only take place if the government continues to act in secrecy and with hubris like it is in charge of the Republic instead of serving the Republic – the Republic being the American people who are the bosses of the government. Read the tea leaves. Why are Americans buying weapons at an unheard of rate? Why aren’t ammunition sales keeping up with demand? It is because Americans have become afraid of their government. And it isn’t in our melting pot, freedom loving character to stay afraid of our government for long. It is in our genes.

The second of the three things is that Americans will buckle under to Socialism which is what the progressives are pushing for. The Marxist progressives are counting on us, like the conservatives in the legislature, to be sheep and quietly move with them toward Socialism. The Obama-led Socialists have every reason to believe this will happen because we have been gradually letting it happen for at least 70 years. They are now accelerating that effort intending to complete the transition within this Presidential administration filled with declared Marxists.

The third of the three things is that the conservatives will finally rally around a leader and find the guts to express their indignation loudly and coherently. They will point out what the polls and the American people are really saying and demand that we get back to the principles of our founding fathers.

And perhaps there is a fourth path. This path is a peaceful, but forceful revolution of the American people. This path is to require a Constitutional Convention resulting in a non-violent dismissal of all elected members of our present government. The Constitutional Convention would turn our upside-down government right side up. It would, as required by our original Constitution, put the people in charge of the government instead of the government in charge of the people. It would result in the recall of everyone in our federal government and eventually the recall in everyone in governments at all levels. The dictatorial liberals and the weak kneed conservatives would all have to go home and find a way to make an honest living in the commercial sector they were either trying to destroy or failing to defend.

Our federal government may be destroying our Republic as created by our founding fathers and as defined by our Constitution. A total recall of all elected officials and a demand for a Constitutional Convention may be the only peaceful way to save our Republic.

PeacockWatch believes that this fourth path may be the only one our failing leaders are leaving available to us. The corruption in our government is too endemic in the system to be expunged. The disdain for the opinion of the citizen may be too inbred in our government leaders. It could be that any well-meaning “Mr. Smith” going to Washington doesn’t have a chance any more of surviving without kowtowing to the party leadership rather than listening to and obeying their constituents. The allure to our elected officials of the benefits of collusion with big money from lobbyists may be so corrupting that it is irresistible. There aren’t many poor Senators and Representatives.

We have sufficient infrastructure now in our nation to permit the formation of something closer to a true Democracy than was available in the days of our founding fathers. Americans, if they choose to do so, can directly make their voices heard on issues concerning individual bills. Bills can be written that are short and required to be devoid of any pork barrel additions. Favors of any kind from lobbyists can be made illegal. The tax code, by instituting a Fair Tax at the federal, state and local level can be made one page long and the IRS eliminated. Spending bills can be required to be published in draft and final form on the Internet as they are formulated. Government income and expense can be published just as they are in any corporate enterprise; they can be published daily on the Internet with running tallies by line item. Deficit spending can be outlawed. Fair tax levels and budget limits can be set by popular vote. No more hidden taxes of any kind. It can be made illegal for Congress to set their own salaries. It can be required, except for discussions of national security, that C-Span be present at all meetings conducted by the Congress and that they can be present at any other federal meeting that they want to attend.

To avoid chaos, it is probably necessary to permit members of Congress to continue to vote in the manner they believe is right rather than in accordance with the wishes of their constituents. However, their vote should be immediately published on the Internet and made public as soon as the vote is cast. Naturally, having C-Span available during any committee meetings or office huddles will make the reasons for the vote clear to all.

We are either headed toward Socialism or the recovery of our Republic and it will happen very, very soon. Perhaps in 2010.

The Obama administration and the Progressives in Congress are trying to take us toward Socialism as fast as they can and they are assuming the citizens will not oppose them because the citizens either agree or are sheep. The Conservatives are too fragmented, too weak kneed, too beholden to lobbyists or the prestige of their position to do what is necessary to properly represent the American public. Consequently, if the American public continues to act the way it has for a century we are in all probability moving from being a Republic to a Socialist state which will become increasingly Socialist as the decade and the century progress.

A Constitutional Convention and the creation of a new Republic may the only option we have available to preserve what our founding fathers fought for.

The Real “Enemy Camp”

Written by PeacockWatch on December 4, 2009.

If Chris Matthews were a young cub reporter one might say he was indiscreet in his comments. But he is not. He has decades of experience. According to his MSNBC News biography:

“Matthews spent 15 years in politics and government: he worked in the White House for four years under President Jimmy Carter as a Presidential speechwriter and on the Government Reorganization Project, in the U.S. Senate for five years on the staffs of Senator Frank Moss (Utah) and Senator Edmund Muskie (Maine), and was the top aide for Speaker of the House Thomas P. “Tip” O’Neill, Jr. for six years.”

Matthews was a print journalist for 15 years and has been with CNBC and MSNBC since 1997.

One could say he has a lot of experience and it is clear that he is very solid in his liberal beliefs. So, when he says about Obama’s visit to West Point that “he went to maybe the enemy camp tonight” Matthews is saying what he means.

It is interesting that Matthews observes about the West Point cadets and their officers that he “didn’t see a lot of warmth in that crowd”. To some extent that could have been because “that crowd”, ready to dedicate their lives to democracy and freedom, had already been in their seats for four to five hours for security reasons while waiting for the commander-in-chief that they have already sworn allegiance to upon entering the academy. Moreover, Matthews opines that the “crowd” seems to be regarding Obama with “if not resentment, skepticism”. Mr. Matthews and Peacock must have been watching two different presentations because Peacock saw none of that. However, a healthy skepticism from these soldiers might have been appropriate. After all this Commander-in-Chief might be ordering any and all of them off to war upon their graduation. It would certainly be appropriate for them, as leaders in training, to be taking the measure of the man. As students in one of the best universities in the world they would certainly have done their homework and known much about their top leader.

These soldier leaders in training would understand the irony of listening to this man in this commemorative Eisenhower Hall while knowing that he is making all the political and economic moves required to transition our country from a free democracy to a socialist state. They would also be fully aware that they are the current link in a chain of military men going back over 200 years who fought, got maimed or died to preserve our democracy that our founding fathers gave their lives, fortunes and sacred honor for. Peacock saw a lot of tired faces of hard working students in the crowd. Peacock saw a lot of people paying close attention and seeming to evaluate what they were hearing. Peacock didn’t see the skepticism that Matthews saw. However, a very healthy skepticism would have been in order.

These military men and women had to be evaluating the words they were hearing that night and comparing them to words they had heard their President say at other times.

Jan. 26, 2009: “All too often the United States starts by dictating … and we don’t always know all the factors that are involved. So let’s listen. And I think if we do that, then there’s a possibility at least of achieving some breakthroughs. … My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are

not your enemy. We sometimes make mistakes. We have not been perfect.” – President Obama, in an interview with Al Arabiya.

That is tremendously conciliatory language to use when talking with Al Arabiya journalists while soldiers are dying in the middle east.

April 2, 2009: “I would like to think that with my election and the early decisions that we’ve made, that you’re starting to see some restoration of America’s standing in the world.” – President Obama, at G20 summit in London.

The graves of American soldiers all across the world are silent testimony to the greatness of America’s standing in the world. Perhaps these future leaders of men were wondering what kind of leader would make such a crass and self-serving statement while outside of our country. Perhaps some of them were wondering what this President might be saying at some future date while they were fighting in some distant country to save the democracy that Obama was “fundamentally” changing into socialism. Perhaps some of them were comparing this President’s actions with those of Winston Churchill who said “When I am abroad, I always make it a rule never to criticize or attack the government of my own country”.

April 2, 2009: “It is true, as my Italian friend has said, that the (economic) crisis began in the U.S. I take responsibility, even if I wasn’t even president at the time.” – President Obama, at the G20 in London, as reported by Germany’s Der Spiegel.

Yet another apology, and a totally inaccurate statement, at an inappropriate location and the loss of another opportunity to speak to America’s strengths preserved by generations of soldiers and earmarked by many square miles of overseas American military cemeteries.

April 6: “I know there have been difficulties these last few years. I know that the trust that binds us has been strained, and I know that strain is shared in many places where the Muslim faith is practiced. Let me say this as clearly as I can: the United States is not at war with Islam.” – President Obama, in Ankara, Turkey

Certainly some might be saying “Tell it to the Ayatollah’s!”

It would be difficult to criticize the young men and women at West Point for possibly reflecting on this President’s comments while he was making a war speech that didn’t even support the minimum recommendation of his battlefield commander. Perhaps some of them were wondering if they would be among the last officers leading men on a dangerous battlefield fighting a rear guard action 18 months from then as they were making the withdrawal from Afganistan that the commander-in-chief was pre-announcing to the enemy.

By way of contrast, it apparently was easy for Chris Matthews to make these criticisms and name these future defenders of a free America the “enemy camp”. It was apparently easy for Chris Matthews to name this oldest military academy in our country and the site of a major Revolutionary War stand by George Washington a “strange venue” for a major war speech about troop deployment. Perhaps Matthews thought that Paddy’s Irish Pub would be more appropriate.

You see, it wasn’t just Matthew’s comment about West Point being the enemy camp that was so crassly inappropriate. It was his criticism of the cadets and their officers. It was his perception of “resentment, criticism” that was neither voiced nor visible to others. Perhaps Matthews was seeing what he wanted to see because he didn’t sense a collective tingle running up the legs of all these uniformed people at the sight of the man Matthews has expressed such gushing adoration for. It was Matthews’ sense of this entirely appropriate hall named for one of our greatest defenders of democracy against socialism, Marxism and fascism as a “strange venue”.

Many in this “crowd” that Matthew’s was so critical of will make a career of defending our country and declaring themselves ready to defend their President with their lives even if their President was overseas inappropriately apologizing for our great country and our courageous military. Quite a few will find themselves in the real “enemy camp” fighting, and perhaps dying, for Chris Matthews right to be crass.

Chris Matthews apologized later in his telecast for calling Eisenhower Hall the “enemy camp”. In the context of the rest of his words on this subject his apology can’t be accepted. It is clear that this journalist with decades of experience on the national level meant exactly what he said. His apology smacks of the man who got caught in an illegal or embarrassing act begging forgiveness not because he is sorry but because he got caught.

Mr. Matthews, you are simply a scoundrel whose words precisely describe your feeling toward our military and our future military leaders. You will receive no forgiveness here.
