NBC’s Support for ‘Public Option’ at an All Time High

Written by PeacockWatch on October 27, 2009.

Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader, announced a new health care plan which will include a government run public option, but giving states the ability to opt-out.

The penalty for a state to opt-out, however, was not disclosed, but there will surely be severe monetary penalties.

Is it a coincidence that a new poll conducted by NBC and WSJ shows a healthy leap in support for Obamacare with a “Public Option” was just released on the NBC website?   See the poll results here

According to NBC: “48% say they favor a public health plan administered by the federal government that would compete with private insurers, compared with 42% who oppose it. That’s a shift from last month, though within the margin of error, when 48% opposed the public option and 46% supported it. And it’s a 10-point swing from August, when 47% were in opposition and 43% were in favor.”

A ten point swing in such a short time seems suspicious. Especially in view of historical evidence showing NBC is more than willing to alter reality in order to promote their own agenda.  Remember the waist-down video of a man carrying a semi-automatic weapon who was used by NBC as an example of racist white men carrying weapons to an Obama rally? The waist-up shot of the same man, not shown by NBC, showed he was not white, but black.

Questionable are how the questions were framed to achieve results that fit the NBC agenda, and what polling samples were used.

We can’t wait to see how Keith Olberman, Cris Matthews, and Rachael Maddow spin the poll to convince us that we are now all in favor of government run Obamacare.

MSNBC Hypocrisy

Written by PeacockWatch on September 24, 2009.

Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow have gone on rants of late about the hateful extremists who oppose Obama’s policies.

Paul Williams did a nice job with this video.  The pictures and Maddow’s own words says it all

Best Selling Books and the Fairness Doctrine

Written by PeacockWatch on September 19, 2009.

September 18, Hardball Chris Matthews

The racism talking points from NBC corporate must be getting pretty dog earred. Hopefully Brian Williams, Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, and Rachel Maddow are using hand sanitizer as they read from the same script every night trying to foist charges of racism on the American public. Maybe “American Public” is an overstatement when referring to MSNBC’s viewing audience — “trying to foist charges of racism on a handful of people” would probably be more appropriate.

After finishing his segment on racism, Matthews interviewed Douglas Brinkley, a left wing historian, who has written a book entitled, Teddy Roosevelt: The Wilderness Warrior.

Apparently Matthews would like to see the Fairness Doctrine applied to best selling books. During the interview with Brinkley, he lamented that there was too much “right-wing crap on the best seller list these days.”

It’s true, the New York Times best seller list is dominated by conservative books:

#1 Culture of Corruption by Michelle Malkin
#6 A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity by Bill O’Reilly
#7 Liberty and Tyranny by Mark Levin
#8 Castrophe by Dick Morris

Coming in at #21 is Teddy Roosevelt: The Wilderness Warrior, by Matthew’s leftest friend, Douglas Brinkley.

Given everything that has happened with the socialist administration, and the control they want over American lives and minds, it would not surprise this editor if Obama appointed another radical as the New York Times Best Selling List Czar.

NBC, Racism, and Freedom of Speech

Written by PeacockWatch on September 17, 2009.

On his September 16th show, Keith Olbermann added his voice to the shrill top-down NBC chorus of “racism” currently being hummed by the likes of Jimmy Carter, Nancy Peloci, and other far-left liberals.

Obermann spent almost the entire show proclaiming that any opposition to President Obama’s agenda is motivated by racism. True to form, all of Obermann’s evidence was, of course, anecodotal and absent any facts.

Is it a coincidence that the volume has simultaneously been turned up on racism issues in all corners of the liberal wing of the democratic party and its supporters?

No, it isn’t a coincidence. This is a broad coordinated attack with a specific agenda and a large target in mind.

On Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tried to draw an analogy between opposition to Obama’s socialist policies to the 1970’s violence in San Franciso over gay rights when two city officials were killed by a lone gunman.

Who or what is the target of these unfounded assertions about racism?

You’ve probably already guessed: the First Amendment and our Freedom of Speech.

Here’s why and how they hope to stifle our freedom of speech.

Obama and the Democrats have had severe setbacks in the past month. Townhall meetings and outraged citizens (average people, not terrorists) were widely televised for all America to see. Van Jones, an avowed communist, was exposed and forced to resign by use of his own thoughts, deeds, and words. Obama’s ratings have fallen precipitously and the health care debate is rapidly turning against them. Exposure of Acorn’s misdeeds by BigGoverment.com and broad coverage of the story by Fox News and talk radio (and lack of coverage by the mainstream media) have created a public relations nightmare for Obama and the Democrats.

Most importantly, total legislative and executive control by Democrats may be a thing of the past after the 2010 election. Polling trends must be scary for them.

Remember what Rahm Emmanuel, White House Chief of Staff, said about a crisis? “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”

Would a national civil rights crisis, amplified by the MSM and propped up by outraged astroturf liberals, be serious enough to give them the opportunity to do things they couldn’t otherwise do?

The pieces are now in place for a bold move to exert further government control over our lives.

Cass Sunstein, the newly appointed regulatory czar, wrote in his 1993 book ,”The Partial Constitution,” that he favors the “fairness doctrine,” which requires broadcasters to present controversial issues of public importance in a manner the government deems “equitable and balanced.”

The Fairness Doctrine or something similar has to be forefront in their minds.

Would they really try to gag Fox News and talk radio by using a trumped up emergency?

If you don’t think so, think again. Look at the damage they’ve already done to the US and our economy with their crisis-opportunity strategy.

The Democrats will do anything to remain in power.
