The Thursday November 5th, 2009 Keith Olbermann rant against freedom of expression has to make White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs wonder if Olbermann is after his job. MSNBC’s Olbermann has certainly left the journalistic reservation this time. PeacockWatch is making comment in this article on only the first few minutes of the Olbermann tirade. We would be able to write a book if we made comment on much more of it. Here is how Olbermann started.
“An elected Republican official today is leading a protest on the west steps of the Capitol that compared health care reform to Nazi death camps and encouraged mindless harassment of and possibly violence against the government. Not tea baggers anymore, not demagogic commentators, an actual congresswoman inciting a hateful rebellion against the rule of law and order. Her name is Michele Bachmann.”
Mr. Olbermann doesn’t seem to understand that no matter how strongly he feels there are others who feel just as strongly and are in total disagreement with him. Within the next few days the legislature will vote on a health bill that takes away our hard earned freedom of choice of health care. Freedom of choice that some of the family members of PeacockWatch and other families in our great country sacrificed, and died, to preserve. A 2,000 page bill has been conceived in secret by a small group of socialists behind closed doors that enslaves us to a single government-run, government-mandated health plan. We will be fined if we don’t sign up to it! It is a plan that violates the moral, ethical and religious principles of many of us. We will be fined if we refuse to violate those principles by refusing to accept, and pay into, this health care plan. The fine we will be required to pay will be used to fund the health plan some of us find morally, ethically and religiously objectionable. It is a Catch 22! Some of us believe that abortion on demand of a perfectly healthy fetus in the ninth month of pregnancy is murder as grievous as putting people into a gas chamber or oven. Those of us who object to that understand that the number of human embryos killed every year is so great that it makes the numbers associated with Nazi Holocaust pale it comparison. Those of us who object believe this is mass murder day after day, year after year. And, under this new health plan we will be forced to financially support this murder one way or the other. Our freedom of choice will be taken away. DO YOU GET IT MR. OLBERMANN? DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE COMPARISON TO NAZI DEATH CAMPS? This isn’t mindless harassment. This is Americans fighting the best way we know how, within the law, to aggressively stop a law that will enslave us! This isn’t a hateful rebellion against the rule of law and order. It is a determined effort to prevent a law from being enacted that violates everything our forefathers fought for. Everything many of our family members died for. The only thing hateful here is the manner in which our government is collaborating to enslave our population. The violence, Mr. Olbermann and MSNBC, is being perpetrated by our government. Not by the people on the Capitol steps.
Mr.Olbermann goes on:
“Our fifth story on the COUNTDOWN: As if that were not bad enough, Ms. Bachmann today joined by the House minority leader as well as countless other GOP representatives. This orgy of veiled threat and not so veiled racism of white power minority rule now fully the province of the Republican Party. Welcome to the coup!
Congressman Bachmann staging what she tried to claim was a spontaneous meet-up of opponents to health care reform, in 25 buses paid for by the AstroTurf group Americans for Prosperity, could be considered spontaneous. An estimated 4,000 people today answering Ms. Bachmann‘s call, bringing with them on those buses, not just their misunderstanding of health care reform but also their hatred of President Obama, as well as pure hatred, period.”
Mr. Olbermann is right that there is an orgy of veiled threat. It is emanating from a White House filled with unconfirmed socialists appointed by the President working to replace democracy with Marxist principles and capitalism with Fascist control of commercial enterprises. It is being born in a legislature that feels that it has to work behind closed doors with just a small group from one party to create an enslaving document. PeacockWatch doesn’t see this as the drunken excess of any one party. We see it as the unethical and corrupt action of a government run amuck and drunk on the power derived from massive taxes fueling uncontrolled spending. This is the true orgy that Keith Olbermann should really be talking about. Yes, welcome to the coup. However, the real coup is that the people are now serving the government instead of the government serving the people. Olbermann is missing the real story!
While watching these great Americans on the Capitol steps expressing their first amendment rights it was impossible for PeacockWatch to detect racism or a desire for white power minority rule. We can only assume that Mr. Olbermann is so biased, so full of hate for those who disagree with him that he has become delusional.
One of the members of PeacockWatch put it very well today.
We, as a nation, have a lot more in common with Frederick Douglass than we did a year ago. There is no difference between the slavery which was practiced in this country in the 18th and 19th centuries and being enslaved by one’s government. In fact, today with taxes running in excess of 50%, we are only half free, and they are coming for the other half.
