NBC’s Support for ‘Public Option’ at an All Time High

Written by PeacockWatch on October 27, 2009.

Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader, announced a new health care plan which will include a government run public option, but giving states the ability to opt-out.

The penalty for a state to opt-out, however, was not disclosed, but there will surely be severe monetary penalties.

Is it a coincidence that a new poll conducted by NBC and WSJ shows a healthy leap in support for Obamacare with a “Public Option” was just released on the NBC website?   See the poll results here

According to NBC: “48% say they favor a public health plan administered by the federal government that would compete with private insurers, compared with 42% who oppose it. That’s a shift from last month, though within the margin of error, when 48% opposed the public option and 46% supported it. And it’s a 10-point swing from August, when 47% were in opposition and 43% were in favor.”

A ten point swing in such a short time seems suspicious. Especially in view of historical evidence showing NBC is more than willing to alter reality in order to promote their own agenda.  Remember the waist-down video of a man carrying a semi-automatic weapon who was used by NBC as an example of racist white men carrying weapons to an Obama rally? The waist-up shot of the same man, not shown by NBC, showed he was not white, but black.

Questionable are how the questions were framed to achieve results that fit the NBC agenda, and what polling samples were used.

We can’t wait to see how Keith Olberman, Cris Matthews, and Rachael Maddow spin the poll to convince us that we are now all in favor of government run Obamacare.

The opt-out is a farce. If a state did opt-out, it’s residents would still be liable for the various health care taxes. It would be the equivalent of paying your property taxes for local schools but sending your child to a private one.
